About the HBWN

The Hastings Business Womens Network is an organisation of more than 150 local women who come together to exchange ideas, information and inspiration as they strive for business success.

Founded in 1999, the HBWN has a proud history of encouraging, empowering and educating women in business in Port Macquarie and surrounding regions.

The HBWN’s membership activities, including networking events and educational services, provide valuable personal and professional development opportunities as well as a sense of belonging to a warm and welcoming business community.

By supporting and promoting the achievements of our skilled and talented members, the HBWN endeavours to raise awareness of the contribution of business women to the local economy and community.

History

The Hastings Business Women's Network was founded in 1999 by advertising executive Kellie Mills, who served as President for the first six years. Kellie was succeeded by newsagency owner/operator Gale Oxenford who held the position for the next six years. The current President, former bank manager Kelly Lamb, took on the role in October 2011.

During its 13 year history, the HBWN has been an active part of the Port Macquarie Hastings community and has hosted a regular series of networking events, educational seminars, mentoring programs, sponsorships and fundraising initiatives.

Growing Tall Poppies

The red poppy flower is the recognisable symbol of the Hastings Business Women's Network.

In the HBWN tall poppies are celebrated, not cut down.
