Michelle Burton
SMB Interior Design
Michelle has recently moved her studio to the Hastings area after living in Sydney for the past 20 years.
Originally from Louisiana in the deep South of the United States, she established her own company - SMB & Associates - in Sydney in 1998. During this time she has developed her passion for functional space manipulation and interior design primarily in residential properties, with the occasional office or commercial project. "Changing space to create a place" is SMB's company motto.
Michelle has an advanced Diploma of Arts; Interior Design, is a Certified Kitchen Designer, a qualified bathroom designer and a member of the Colour Society of Australia.
Continual professional development; educational courses, attendance at design trade shows and a love of travel (especially Italy) ensures Michelle's designs remain fresh, contemporary and up to date.
She was recently awarded the prestigious Australian Bathroom Designer of the Year for 2011/12 by the KBDi (Kitchen & Bathroom Design Institute).
Michelle is passionate about design and loves being a designer.
