Gender is one of the six focus areas in our Workplace Diversity Plan and one of six Employee Networks at Charles Sturt. Charles Sturt is committed to addressing the complexity of gender including gender pay equity, targets and quotas for underrepresented professions and leadership levels, removing gendered workplace discrimination, engaging, and educating people on gender equality issues and caring.
We are proud to be an employer of choice for women in regional NSW who make up 66% of our total workforce. More than half the staff in the upper quartile salary-wise are women, and more than half of management and senior management roles are held by women, notably the University Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, and several Executive Leadership Team and University Academic and Professional Senior Leaders.

From 17 – 20 June 2024 Charles Sturt University and the Gender Education Association GEA (UK) is delighted to present the International GEA Conference 2024 “BE THE CHANGE” This is first time this global conference will be held in a regional centre and will bring 200 thought leaders on gender equity and inclusion from around the globe to Port Macquarie. Supported by esteemed Foundation Partner SAGE, The four day event will be a catalyst for discussion and action to address global and institutional inequality through the power of education and knowledge.
