Shape up with Business Bootcamp Workshops

Posted on 31 July 2015

Local businesses are invited to shape up their skillsets at a series of Business Bootcamp workshops during August, September and October, to be presented by the Hastings Business Women's Network in collaboration with North Coast TAFE.

HBWN President Karen Archer said the workshops would cover a range of topics including how to resolve conflict, make the most of collaborative technologies and overcome public speaking nerves.

"We've teamed up with North Coast TAFE to develop three customised professional development training sessions in response to a recent survey that indicated these were the areas in which our members most wanted to brush up their skills," Ms Archer said.

"We're pleased to extend the invitation to any businesses in the region looking to operate more effectively and individuals who wish to progress their career. It's also an ideal time for students to get involved with the network, with the HBWN offering free student memberships until 31 October."

Trisha McIntyre, North Coast TAFE Community Relations Officer Hastings Valley, said North Coast TAFE were proud to be sponsors of the Hastings Business Women's Network Professional Development Program and thrilled to be able to offer this series of fun and informative workshops.

"In delivering the best training for local businesses, North Coast TAFE provide customised training options that don't just tick the boxes, but enhance an organisation's competitiveness, productivity and success," Mrs McIntyre said.

The first session on 5 August will look at the 'triple five' approach to Conflict Resolution with presenter Siandra Putica, who will help attendees recognise and handle conflict in the workplace.

On 2 September, Julie Robbins will present a seminar on Collaboration Technology to look at ways to use apps and software to enhance your business and keep you organised.

During the final session on 7 October, Tracey Carpenter will provide skills for Public Speaking, including how to structure presentations, engage with audiences and nail your message.

The two-hour workshops will be held at the Graduates Restaurant at Port Macquarie TAFE, and provide time for networking with like-minded business people over refreshments.

Limited tickets are now available for the three sessions, which HBWN members can purchase individually for $50 per session, or attend all three for just $100. Non-member prices are $60 for one session, or $120 for three. Secure your spot at www.hbwn.com.au
